Hello, welcome to The Chester and I'm so excited to have you all along for this new chapter of cricket coverage in the North East.

We'll have comprehensive coverage of the rest of the season, with both men's and women's teams still having plenty to play for.

We'll have exclusive interviews with players from both sides, as well as that you'll have regular updates from myself in your inboxes each week.

Amid the constant chatter about the future of county cricket, I think it's important to make sure all counties are noticed and Durham certainly doesn't get the attention it deserves, given the players the club has produced for England.

As part of that I'm hoping to create a real community through The Chester, a place where you can communicate with me, share with me the content you want to see and I'll ask the questions that you think are needed.

I'm looking forward to this, it's new to me as well as being new to you so yes, there may be a few hiccups, but I'll be giving my all to provide you with the top quality coverage that your club deserves.

So where better to introduce myself than this article.

You may be familiar with my work, I have been one of the network reporters at the club over the past two season, so you'll have likely read my match reports in your local paper or on the ESPN Cricinfo website.

Alongside that, I've had articles published in The Sun, The Cricketer and Football 365, while I have also been working for BBC Radio Cumbria over the past year.

With a T20 Blast quarter-final against Hampshire Hawks on the horizon for the men and the battle for a Metro Bank One Day Cup quarter-final intensifying for the women's team, there's no better time to subscribe to The Chester.

You have plenty of content to enjoy, including a feature on the men's team's annual trip to South Northumberland CC and a look back at a momentous day for the women's team against Lancashire.
