A must-win game that ended in a damp squib of a draw, the Worcestershire game didn't get us any closer to finding out which division Durham will be playing in next season.

If there was a game to remove your enthusiasm for cricket, then this would undoubtedly be it.

Watching paint dry would be a more exciting alternative to reliving what was dubbed as a 'basement battle' prior to the first ball bowled. However, it felt that this game was played like a turgid dead rubber, perhaps an indication of the impact the discussions over the future of the County Championship are having on the current season. Or perhaps it was the fact that one side's fate was almost decided prior to it.
