If there was a game to remove your enthusiasm for cricket, then this would undoubtedly be it.
Watching paint dry would be a more exciting alternative to reliving what was dubbed as a 'basement battle' prior to the first ball bowled. However, it felt that this game was played like a turgid dead rubber, perhaps an indication of the impact the discussions over the future of the County Championship are having on the current season. Or perhaps it was the fact that one side's fate was almost decided prior to it.
The third day was particularly excruciating, so much so that commentators were hosting their own version of Piers Morgan's Life Stories on the YouTube live stream.
Anyways, that's enough of that, there were things that we learnt about Durham in this game, but unfortunately once again more questions were raised and few answers were provided by Ryan Campbell's side.
