A chastening couple of weeks for Durham's men's team has come to an end, with back-to-back defeats leaving them in the County Championship Division One relegation zone, but the Metro Bank One Day Cup provides an opportunity to return to form.

Kicking off with the annual fixture at South Northumberland CC, Durham will be tussling with eight other counties in Group B for a place in the knock-out rounds.

Home fixtures await against Sussex, Middlesex, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, while there are trips on the road to Somerset, Kent, Lancashire and Yorkshire, the latter will be played at Scarborough or 'Scarbados' to some.

Unlike the T20 Blast, there's just three qualification spots with top spot securing a home semi-final, while second will host third from Group A in an eliminator and third from Durham's group will travel to the second placed team from Group A. The winner of the two eliminators will go on to the semi-finals, and the winners of those will contest the final at Trent Bridge on Saturday 20th September.
