Durham hall of famer Dale Benkenstein has re-joined the club as Batting Consultant.

Benkenstein, who won two County Championships with Durham, has joined the club after fulfilling his Assistant Coach duties with Pretoria Capitals, finishing as runners-up in the 2026 edition of the SA20.

Benkenstein is an inductee of the club's hall of fame, having made 137 appearances for the club, scoring 9,055 runs at an average of 45.96.

The former Durham captain left Lancashire in 2025, after a troubled stint in the North West, and has also held Head Coach roles at Gloucestershire and Hampshire along with batting roles domestically in South Africa.
