You would be forgiven for thinking that Durham’s red ball struggles last season would create problems when recruiting talent, as they look to secure an immediate return to Division One.

However, Durham’s decision to sign Kasey Aldridge on a permanent deal challenges that assumption.

Described by Director of Cricket Marcus North as a “highly talented bowling all-rounder”, Aldridge arrives as exactly the type of player county sides are looking for.

At 25 and heading into what many would consider the prime years of his career, it is a big move for Aldridge and a major coup for Durham. He brings an ideal blend of experience, physical presence and all-round ability to the North-East.
