Let's face it, the debut season of Durham's women's team has been a mixed bag, but the 89-run win over Lancashire felt like a soft reboot as the season enters its final sprint.
After a disappointing T20 Blast campaign, where they won just five of a possible 14 games, the pressure was on Durham as this game provided them with a chance to close in on a top four spot in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Skipper Hollie Armitage said in post-match media duties that the side 'knew we had two really important games' and they put everything on the line as they produced what was their best performance to date.
When Suzie Bates fell early and Emma Marlow was ran out on 37, it felt like a case of deja vu and that Durham were going down a road they've been down too many times this season, but Armitage played the situation to perfection and deployed an innings that exploited on bad balls and defended the good ones.
